What to Expect with Neurotoxin
DO
Come with questions and communicate with your injector at Renue. We want to know if you have had neurotoxin before, what you liked or didn't like about it, are you wanting movement or to be completely frozen? Communication and trust are key to this process.
DON'T
Expect immediate results. Neurotoxin takes two weeks for full effects. You may feel heaviness for the first few days.
DO
Schedule a 2 week post-injection visit for touch-ups and re-evaluation. Neurotoxin takes up to 2 weeks to see full effects. If you are new patient to us, this is incredibly important. We take pride in our work and want our patients to be happy with results, so the two-week check-in is critical.
DO
Consider lower face injections. Treating the lower face muscles (mentalis, DAO's, Nefertiti lift, etc.) have become popular for a reason. This can help us look younger and more refreshed. Dr. Means swears by lower face injections in her mentalis & DAOs to reduce her resting b*tch face.
DON'T
No lying down for 6 hours post-injection. Keep your head upright. No intense workouts or excessive heat like lying out in the sun or visiting the sauna in the next 24-48 hours. Do not rub your neurotoxin injection points.​
Avoid scheduling a peel, facials, massage, laser or microneedling for 1-2 weeks.
DO
Stay hydrated.
Use a cool compress.
